What We Do
The Bruner Foundation is interested in partnering with other funders and non-profit service providers on projects focused on building and sustaining evaluative capacity.
The Foundation is also interested in furthering the field of evaluation and evaluative thinking by providing materials free of charge through it's website.
In making funding decisions, the Foundation considers the following factors:
- Who is involved?
In general, partnership/collaborative initiatives with a visible champion are preferable. - Readiness?
Organizations with a visible commitment to and/or past experience with evaluation and evaluative thinking are preferable. - What is the theory of change?
It is important that the initiative has defined what it wants to accomplish and why it has chosen a specific approach. - In what geographic region is the project located?
Proximity to the Rochester, NY office facilitates collaborative work, but is not a requirement. - How will the project contribute to advancing the field of Evaluation Capacity Building and/or Evaluative Thinking?
A commitment to share "lessons learned" and/or new evaluation materials developed during (or as a result of) the initiative with the field is strongly recommended.
